A gift in your will
Leaving a gift to the Trust in your Will is one of the most significant and meaningful ways to show your support.
Legacies, whether big or small make a crucial contribution to the work of the Trust. They are a very special gift from one generation to another. They allow us to support critical research at the early stages and support educational development of some the country’s brightest radiologists. No legacy income is spent on overheads or general administration - it is used right at the heart the Trust’s work.
How to make a new Will
- Firstly you will need to appoint a professional adviser such as a solicitor or bank
- Look at how much you have to leave, including the total sum of your property, money and possessions, less any outstanding loans
- Decide who you want to benefit from your Will, such as family, friends, charities or good causes
- Choose executors to make sure your wishes are carried out.
- Finally, keep your Will safe and make sure your executors know where to find it, whilst also giving a copy to your solicitor or bank.
- Make sure you update your will to ensure it still meets with your wishes and circumstances.
Ways in which you can leave a gift to the Radiological Research Trust in your Will
- A straightforward gift to the Trust for general purposes, so the Trust can use your gift where it is needed most.
- Leave a gift in your Will to a specific type of Radiological research such as cancer, neurology or bursaries for travel.
How your gift is spent
No part of any legacy is ever spent on administration. Every single penny goes directly to support research related to radiology.
Legacies have been the largest source of income for the Trust over the years. So many radiology related research projects go unfunded that could have gone on to develop life saving medical interventions, your legacy gift, no matter what the size, will make a lasting impact to this area of medicine that is so crucial to everyone in their life time.
Legacies are used exclusively to support research, not administration or overheads so the full value of each gift is realised and makes a real difference.
Legacy gifts take all forms and can include money, land, buildings or chattels. Any sum helps. The Trust takes great pains to use funds wisely and effectively.
